It started out with a cooked breakfast (by hubby), then off to playgroup with Xander. I thought it would be nice to show my husband what playgroup was all about. I was really glad we went because it was ‘dress up as your superhero day’ (although, I forgot all about it). There were the usual toys but there was also a bouncy castle as well. Naturally,  it was a little busier that usual. When it was all over, we headed on home so that bubs could have his morning kip.

Lunch was at Kyo-ya, one of my favourite Japanese restaurants on the Shore. Bubs has already been fed before we left home. As he is still to young for raw fish, I gave him pieces of tomatoe to chew on (which he really enjoyed).

Then it was off to Takapuna pools. There ‘s a heated children’s pool and also parent/child changing facility, which we thought was good, until we turned on the shower – it was really cold (way too cold for bubs). So after we got dressed we  headed off home (for bub’s afternoon nap) but not before checking out the onsite creche for patrons of the Leisure Centre. It’s about $6.00 for a maximum of two hours. Best to call ahead, if you are thinking of using this facility.

In the evening (again after bubs was fed and washed), we headed out for dinner at Sausalito Cafe also on the Shore. Bubs sat in a high chair and was snacking on cheese and blueberries while my husband and I ate our dinner. It was such a nice way to spend the evening! What a nice way to spend the day – just the family!
