Now, I already have a Go Go Bag and thought perhaps another would be good as a backup. I didn’t really want to pay full price for a new one, so decided to buy a secondhand Go Go Bag (NB – 2yrs Merino Duvet) from Trade-Me. After looking for a few weeks, I’ve given up. Wow, I just couldn’t believe the bidding prices! Brand new, this sleeping bag would cost NZD$169. The bids on Trade-Me for used bags were over $100.

I like Trade Me, I really do but honestly, I think some people seem to have gone slightly bonkers when bidding. Some of the time, you are just better off buying the item brand new. Then sell it when you are done with it.

Maybe it is because I lack the patience to trawl through Trade Me week after week? I don’t have the time! Maybe I just need to reset my expectations. I love a bargain but paying more than half price for a secondhand/ thirdhand item is just not a great deal for me.

Anyway, I have decided to buy a Gro Bag instead, just as a comparison (product comparison). I have heard and seen good reviews about it. If I purchased it from the UK, it would only cost around NZD$80-NZD$85 (that includes delivery). It’s about $120, if you were to buy it here in New Zealand.
