What a great morning we had with the girls at Mainly Music. Calista, my youngest slept for part of it but Solen had a great time. She sang and danced for the full 1/2 hour session. She is usually shy so it was nice to see her walk as a penguin or wave her piece of cloth into the air as the wind.
Mainly Music is a great way to get the kids to enjoy music and build up their confidence around others. There are lots of Mainly Music groups all over NZ. Check out their website to find a group near you: http://www.mainlymusic.org.nz
It used to be $2 per family last year but they have increased their fees (where I go anyways) to $4 per family. There is no obligation to go and you do not need to book ahead, just show up with your child/children. They provide a morning tea and toys at the end of the session. It is usually free for the first session so you can see for yourself if that works for you and your family.
